Program Information

A Biotechnologist, trained at the Universidad de La Frontera, is a professional with the skills to work in different fields of science and development, and in the management of biotechnological processes.

He is trained in basic science, with the ability to apply the scientific method to the development of productive biotechnological processes related to the agricultural field, the environment and animal and human health.

The scientific training allows the graduate to propose, develop and optimize processes through research by using biotechnological tools to solve environment associated problems, in order to contribute to the protection of biological resources.

The graduate has the capacity of effective communication, critical thinking, entrepreneurship, autonomous and team work and handling of information technology, all within a framework of social responsibility, which includes ethical aspects and cultural diversity.

Occupational field

Academic centers, scientific or technological research, laboratories and productive companies related to the field of biotechnology, contributing to research, development and innovation in the field of biology, or continuing with postgraduate and specialization studies in the different areas of development.
