The objective of this unit, which was created in 2009, is to create value through the use of intellectual and industrial property in knowledge results developed at the UFRO. It provides the institutional basis for the transfer of knowledge and technologies to the market, through agreements, collaboration contracts and licenses.

The UTT-UFRO is formed by professionals with national and international expertise and experience in innovation and technology transfer, with extensive experience in the management of intangibles (non-disclosure agreements, understanding agreements, R & D contracts and exchange of materials and licenses, among others), in business models, corporate strategies and technology watch. The professional capabilities of the UTT-UFRO are complemented with internal and external counseling, as well as international linkages.
