INSTITUTIONAL LOGO

Inspired by the sacred musical instrument of the Mapuche, the inhabitants of the Araucanian land, the institutional logo was born.

A synthesis of the Kultrun (shaman´s drum) of the Mapuche,a culture whose deep symbolism moves and which integrates each of the elements that shape the world and constitute its relationship with man. The motto "Itineratium Mentis ad Veritatem" is inserted in this convergence and means “the journey of the mind in search of the truth”. Where territory and universal wisdom represent our university spirit.

Himno ufro 2 INSTITUTIONAL HYMN

An ode to the land, the water and the ancestral culture of the Araucanía Region, where our institution was created. A tribute to the landscape and our diversity.
A tribute to the landscape and our diversity.

A song to nature, to knowledge, to freedom.
Our anthem. Our voice.

"In Temuco, Kultrun of the rain,
The University becomes alive,
With the strength of free spirits,
For the native land that is the ideal."

Lyrics: Juan Manuel Fierro
Music by: Bruno Trejos.

Theristicus melanopis (Black-faced Ibis)

The Black-faced Ibis was selected by our students as the mascot of their activities, and has slowly become an element of our institutional identity.

Unmistakable for its size, form and particular shout, this migratory bird, which can be seen frequently on our Andrés Bello Campus, symbolizes the will of the University Community to spread its wings and to fly beyond the border (“La Frontera”).

COPIHUE / CHILEAN BELLFLOWER

Our beautiful national flower can be found on the walkways of our Andrés Bello Campus in its shades: red or white. It stands out among the dark green of the southern Chilean landscapes. Its name in Mapudungun means "to be upside down". Its unique beauty does not go unnoticed, neither by Chileans norby foreigners.

It grows in humid places, surrounded by vegetation and today, it is under conservation because of its slow flowering.
