With just over four months remaining until the event, the Third International Congress of Rehabilitation Sciences continues its preparations for a new edition that will bring together researchers, healthcare professionals, academics and undergraduate and postgraduate students to address the current challenges facing the field.

As part of these preparations, the organising committee has announced an extension to the deadline for abstract submissions until 3 August 2026, providing an additional opportunity for the scientific and professional community to share research, innovative developments and experiences related to rehabilitation. The call includes three presentation formats: oral presentations, posters and symposia.

Organised by the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at the Universidad de La Frontera, the congress will be held on 22 and 23 October 2026 at the University’s Faculty of Medicine under the theme “Research that Unites Disciplines, Rehabilitation that Transforms Lives”. The event aims to promote evidence-based discussion and the integration of scientific, technological, clinical and educational advances through an interdisciplinary approach.

“We have seen a very positive response from the scientific and professional community involved in rehabilitation, reflecting the strong interest in opportunities for dialogue and exchange such as this. Our objective is to ensure that as many research projects, experiences and innovative developments as possible are represented at the congress”, said Dr Claudio Muñoz, director of the Department.

The call is open to researchers, academics, clinical professionals, educators, and undergraduate and postgraduate students, who may submit their work either individually or as part of a team. Eligible contributions include original research, innovative developments and reports of experience in clinical practice, teaching and management.

Submitted abstracts will undergo a blind peer-review process conducted by a scientific committee comprising specialists and researchers in the field. Evaluation criteria include the relevance of the topic, methodological rigour, analysis of findings and the clarity of the presentation of results.

Abstracts must be submitted exclusively through the official congress website (in Spanish), where applicants are required to complete the online submission form and comply with the established submission guidelines and formatting requirements (in Spanish).
