In this edition, THE evaluated 2,191 universities across 115 countries. In Chile’s case, 29 institutions were included. Compared to the previous year, UFRO advanced to a higher bracket, now positioned in the 1201–1500 range. Nationally, it ranks eighth overall and third among state universities.
With this achievement, UFRO once again confirms its institutional strength and its standing within Chile’s university system—demonstrating a leading position supported by indicators that reflect both quality and a strong capacity for continuous improvement.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings assess global university performance across five dimensions: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook. A total of 18 calibrated indicators are used to provide comprehensive and balanced comparisons between institutions in diverse contexts, as detailed in the ranking’s methodology. It is worth noting that, unlike other rankings, THE lists institutions alphabetically within each score range rather than by total score.
According to the analysis, UFRO has improved in all measured indicators, with the most significant progress in research environment, research quality, and international outlook.
Within both the global and national contexts, UFRO’s inclusion in this prestigious ranking reaffirms the leadership it has built among Chile’s higher education institutions, reflecting its sustained growth and ongoing commitment to education, quality, research, and social development.
