The award ceremony took place in Toronto, Canada, with the participation of the directors Gerardo Lagos and Cristian Campomanes.

The business incubator of the Universidad de La Frontera positioned itself as one of the best business acceleration programs, with the first place in Latin America and eighth place at the international level in the category World Top Business Accelerator Linked to University. The World Incubation Summit 2018 was powered by UBI Global and in partnership with DMZ at Ryerson University.

The ceremony took place in Toronto, Canada, with the participation of the directors Gerardo Lagos and Cristian Campomanes, who expressed their maximal appreciation for the place the incubator reached at the international stage.

UBI Global is a well- known Swedish firm that connects organizations that are related to the new generation of business and in the summit in February 2018, the best university-linked business incubators and accelerators that are part of the global UBI network have been recognized.

The recognition was based on the 2017-2018 World Benchmark Study sponsored by Cisco, which categorized the best performing incubation programs with focus on corporate-incubator partnerships and best practices.

The business incubator of the Universidad de La Frontera has a trajectory of 16 years and stands out because of its impressive contribution to innovation and entrepreneurship in the whole country. It has been recognized by CORFO in three consecutive years, because of its portfolio with the highest raised private capital and the level of sales in the country.

Its offices are located in Temuco and Puerto Montt and it supports more than 100 businesses in Chile and counts with more than 6.000 million Chilean pesos in sales.
At the moment, the incubator assesses and orients entrepreneurs and businesses in the process of pre-incubation and incubation, providing the creation, development and consolidation of businesses with high growth potential, through the training in capabilities for entrepreneurs, special assessments and the access to financing networks, based on a continuous improvement process.
