The graduate’s hallmark is engineering design with innovation and social responsibility. He/She is trained in basic sciences, engineering sciences, and especially in the fields of integration of electronic technologies, telecommunications and computer networks, technology project management, management, and data network analysis and connectivity. These skills allow him/her to develop, apply, design, and implement solutions to problems related to electronic, telecommunications, control, and automation systems.

The graduate can communicate in a globalized world, work alone and/or in a team, and apply new knowledge through appropriate learning strategies. At the same time, he/she is aware of the ethical responsibilities of the profession.

The training allows the graduate to work in businesses or organizations of the public or private sector, or self-employed.

Occupational field

A Civil Electronic Engineer who graduated from the Universidad de La Frontera has the skills to work in technological innovation and maintenance of electronic systems in companies of different areas, such as communications, forestry, mining, etc. He/She also has the skills to design, execute, and operate projects in the field of automatic process control and computer networks, among others. The training allows the graduate to develop and advise systems with a strong focus on hardware and software in industrial companies, and to lead groups in charge of introducing new technologies related to communications and automated production systems.

Program Information

A Civil Environmental Engineer, trained at the Universidad de La Frontera, is a professional with the skills to work in the fields of project management and production processes, incorporating an environmental view to contribute to the economic and social development of the country.

The graduate’s hallmark is engineering design with innovation and social responsibility. He/She is trained in basic sciences and specialized in pollution prevention, control and reduction, and the treatment and disposal of different kinds of waste, to design production processes, evaluate the environmental impact of the production of goods and services, implement engineering projects, and apply management tools with a preventive approach for the mitigation of environmental aspects that may cause adverse effects on the environment.

The graduates are socially, ethically and environmentally responsible, critical of the results of their decisions, and respect the rules that govern the society in which they operate. They have the skills to integrate and lead work teams, and to effectively communicate their purposes.

The training allows the graduates to work in businesses or organizations of the public or private sector, or self-employed.

He/She is trained in basic sciences, engineering sciences, and especially in the fields of electricity grids, electrical machines, and electric power systems. This allows the graduate to participate in the study, design, construction and evaluation of electric systems, and to find solutions to problems related to industrial activities and services.
The graduate can communicate in a globalized world, work alone and/or in a team, and apply new knowledge through appropriate learning strategies. At the same time, he/she is aware of the ethical responsibilities of the profession.
The training allows the graduate to work in public or private companies in the sectors of power generation, transmission and distribution; in technical, regulatory and legislative bodies that are directly linked to the Chilean electricity sector; in national and international energy agencies; in clean energy development, energy efficiency, or other associations; in industrial production, manufacturing or service companies; or self-employed.

An Industrial Civil Engineer with specialization in Mechanics, trained at the Universidad de La Frontera, is a professional with the skills to work in the fields of management, production processes and projects, which allow him to integrate resources, create, design, manage, apply continuous improvement, implement solutions to problems and to direct the operation of industrial and service production processes and systems.

He is trained in basic sciences, engineering sciences, as well as in the administration, evaluation, management, optimization and design of projects. He also has knowledge in the field of mechanical engineering, especially in thermo fluids, manufacturing processes and mechanical design.

He is socially responsible, innovative, committed, critical with the results of his decisions and respects the rules that govern the society in which he operates. He has the capacity to communicate in a globalized world and to put together and lead work teams.

His training allows him to undertake business initiatives, to work in productive and service companies in the public or private sector, to work independently as a consultant or advisor, and to continue studies in order to contribute to the economic and social development and of the country.

An Industrial Civil Engineer with specialization in Mechanics, graduated from the Universidad de La Frontera, has an occupational field that involves a wide range of activities in the service and industrial sector, such as: formulation and evaluation of mechanical engineering projects, management and technological innovation, production management and industrial maintenance, and maintenance planning and programming, among others.
